As an Ageing Australia member, you can take advantage of CaRE to:
- Explore sector information ensuring you stay informed with the latest industry insights.
- Participate in peer-to-peer and community conversations.
- Connect with fellow members and sector experts, and personalise your experience.
You can set your communication preferences to receive information as it happens, or as a daily digest, so news and information is delivered your way.

Please note that these online communities are separate from Ageing Australia’s special interest groups, forums and councils. Further information can be found on the groups and forums webpage.
Further communities may be developed based on member feedback and interest. Please liaise with your state or territory manager as we continue to add communities of practice based on your interests.

Getting started with care
Follow these steps to log into CaRE:
- Click on this link: Ageing Australia CaRE
- Select ‘sign in’ in the top right-hand corner of the page.
- Click ‘create or forgot password’, and enter your email address to receive the link to set your password.
- Follow that link in your email to create your password.
- Enter your login credentials and select ‘sign in.’
- Read and agree to the ‘community guidelines and your privacy’ to enter CaRE.
- Select your notification preferences and ‘save’.
- You will land on your member dashboard (member home page).
Frequently asked questions
How do I find other members?
Click the ‘member directory’ link found in the main navigation bar. The directory lets you search for other users based on:
- First or last name
- Company or organisation name
- Email address
- City
- State
What communities do I already belong to?
Go to ‘communities’ in the main navigation bar. Select ‘my communities’ to view the communities you currently belong to.
How do I join a community?
Go to your local CoP and click the ‘select your CoP preferences’ card at the bottom. That will take you to a web form you can fill out to request access to specialised CoPs.
If you do not see this card, you are already within all the CoPs to which you have access.
How can I control the frequency and format of emails I receive?
Navigate to your profile and click on the ‘my account’ tab. Choose ‘community notifications’ from the drop-down menu. On that page, you can view and control your subscription options.
For each discussion, you have the following delivery options:
- Real time: sends an email every time a new message is posted.
- Daily digest: sends one email to you each day, consolidating all of the posts from the previous day.
- No email: allows you to be part of the group without having emails sent to you. You can still post and read others’ messages by logging into the community site.
- Consolidated digest: Allows you to combine multiple communities into one notification email.
Can I search for posts across all the communities?
Search for discussion posts across all the communities by entering a keyword in the search bar located in the main navigation. To refine your search results, select one or more facets from the menu on the left side.

Access CARE from your mobile phone
Be sure to tick ‘Stay signed in’
Navigate to your profile to keep your information up-to-date. From here, you can set your preferences for receiving updates and alerts, and manage the CaRE communities to which you are connected.
1. Download the Connected Communities App on your mobile device (Google Play or Apple App Store).
2. Enter the following domain address:
ageingaustralia.connectedcommunity.org
3. Tap Next.
4. Enter your CaRE account email address and password.
5. Tap Login.
