Ageing Australia is proud to announce the winners of the 2025 Innovation Transforming Aged Care (ITAC) Awards, recognising excellence and innovation in aged and community care, seniors housing and retirement living.
The winners were announced at Ageing Australia’s ITAC Conference Dinner held at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne tonight (on 12 March 2025). The event celebrated the groundbreaking contributions of individuals, organisations, and teams driving excellence and innovation within the aged care sector.
Tom Symondson, CEO of Ageing Australia, congratulated the winners and highlighted the vital role of innovation in improving the lives of older Australians.
“These awards showcase the incredible talent and creativity within the aged care sector. The winners have demonstrated how innovative thinking can enhance care outcomes, improve operational efficiency, and empower older Australians to live fuller lives,” Mr Symondson said.
“This is precisely the kind of forward-thinking that our sector needs – work that enhances wellbeing, supports independence, and delivers meaningful change for older Australians.”
This year, Ageing Australia received 59 nominations across four new categories: Data Insights, Capacity Building, Technology Transformation, and Research and Development.
Data Insights Award
Recognises the use of data to improve decision-making and care outcomes.
Winner: Baptcare Data & Analytics Team
Capacity Building Award
Recognises programs that enhance the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of the aged care workforce or empower older Australians.
Winner: BaptistCare
Research and Development Award
Recognises projects that advance knowledge in aged care and foster new approaches to service delivery.
Winner: Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT)
Technology Transformation Award
Recognises the development or implementation of technologies that improve care delivery, efficiency, or quality of life for older Australians.
Winner: Umps Health
Mr Symondson praised the quality of this year’s nominations and acknowledged the impact of all entrants.
“This year’s entries reflect the strength and innovation within Australia’s aged care sector. Their contributions are enhancing the quality of life for older Australians and setting new benchmarks for excellence,” Mr Symondson said.
